Cushioned vinyls are generally loose laid, that is not stuck down to the sub floor.This provides a degree of comfort and warmth depending upon the thickness of the cushioned underlayer of the vinyl.
Loose laying can mean its quicker and easier to lay without the amount of preparation required to lay a stuck down floor covering as long as the sub floor is in a suitable condition.
All Cushioned vinyls are suitable for domestic locations, however their durability will depend on the thickness of the top wear layer as opposed to the thickness of the cushioned layer which is present purely for comfort. Some cushioned vinyls are also suitable for commercial purposes. Due to recent regulations more and more cushioned vinyls are now manufactured with a degree of anti slipness which provides a firmer grip to the surface when wet.
